ABOUT THE GAME

Darwen Dash

A free retro pixel runner set in Darwen, Lancashire. Help little Jude dash through the terraced streets, the park and the moors to Jubilee Tower, beat two dinosaurs and save his birthday. It plays in your browser on a computer or a phone, with nothing to download.

On the way there are cans and lollies to grab (80 cans and 40 lollies in all), birds to duck, a nerf blaster and a water pistol to find, Batman the Labrador to ride, and two boss fights: Old Rex and Fossil Rex. Finish the story, then see how long you last in the Endless Run as Jude, Pooh Boy or Old Rex.

How to play

Jump: Space, the up arrow or W. On a phone, tap the game or press the up button.
Duck and grab: the down arrow or S. Duck under birds and grab the cans and lollies down low.
Fire: F or X, once you have found something to fire.
Music: M turns it on and off. Every key can be changed in the controls box.
One go: one knock and the run is over, so learn the road and go again.

Trophies and high scores

There are 25 trophies to win, some of them secret, and a high score table for today and for all time. Put your name in and see if you can top Darwen.
